Change is sometimes the hardest thing — yet a very necessary thing for growth. Two weeks ago, I said goodbye to my home of 4.5 years, as I prepare to hit the road and start on my cross-country adventure. It was definitely bittersweet but I know with my whole heart it was the right move to make. I’ll really miss my coffee in the morning on the lanai along with a laundry list of things but I’m most grateful that I was able to continue living here after life blew up. The heartbreaking stories I’ve read (more than I can count) about women whose lives were not only completely toppled, but they were also forced to uproot from their homes post-divorce is just unimaginable. The fact that I left on own my terms was a gift in itself. The walls of #308 sheltered me in both my darkest moments and greatest triumphs — and for that, I’ll always be grateful.
I’m also so incredibly grateful for all of the amazing friends I made at “The Commons” and memories that we all had together. From pool shenanigans to pre-golf cart parade parties and everything in between, they all made this a special place to live. I love you all so much!

My girls Ann, Erica, Paula and Kimm also had a big surprise for me on our last Wine Wednesday together for a while — an infinite amount of travel supplies! I told them if all else fails, I can run a roadside convenience store out of the back of my car! They were so sweet to think of me and make sure I was well-prepared for my trip. ❤️

I love my Florida life, my golf cart, the sunshine, and my friends who are like family. But now it’s time to step away for a little bit, spread my wings, and see more of our beautiful country. By the time my trip concludes (if all goes to plan) I’ll have visited all but three states — with Alaska, Hawaii and Connecticut remaining (CT whaaa??? So random, I know.).
So wish me luck and hope you’ll follow along! Mile zero starts in 3…2…1.
Love and light,
MW
